Our September meeting, members celebrated a busy and successful August which included club displays at BrickFair NOVA 2024, Brick Slopes 2024, a month-long display at the Chantilly Regional Library, an ongoing display at Brickmania, and the refreshed Potomac Mills LEGO Store cubby display.

Members who participated in these displays shared their experiences and encouraged others to participate in the future, particularly new attendees! At Brick Slopes, James W. took home the “Best Military” trophy for his MOC representing a military service memorial. Multiple attendees also shared feedback from the Potomac Mills LEGO Store Manager regarding the very positive response from customers about the cubby display.

The August MOC challenge displays at the meeting were particularly fun featuring lights and glow in the dark features! Members brought all sorts of builds from mosaics to GBC modules! Thanks to everyone who participated and congrats to our winners Jeff B. and Andrew M.

Our activity this month was a build challenge featuring set 21061 (Notre-Dame de Paris). Two teams of nine builders raced to build as much of the set as they could in two hours. Builders did not know what set they were building until the clock started and they unpacked the set. After the competition, the sets were disassembled, sorted, and drafted by participants.

We had 28 participants join us at the Oakton Library for our September meeting. Huge thanks to the staff and the public visitors who stopped in and asked about the club!
