At our last meeting before BrickFair FXBG 2025, NOVA-LUG members came together for our March monthly meeting to make final arrangements for upcoming display opportunities and build LEGO.  The best part of our monthly meetings is the opportunity to talk through group projects and individual MOCs.

For our February Monthly MOC Challenge, members worked on microscale versions of the national memorials surrounding the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. The winning builds were incorporated into the final display. Congratulations to James W. and John S. whose builds won!

This month’s activity utilized the donated UCS Millennium Falcon, thanks to Brickmania – Capital Store. Builders were given 30 minutes to build anything, BUT a spaceship using just the parts available from the set.

Upcoming display opportunities under consideration and discussion were the Potomac Mills LEGO Store cubby, the Herndon Library case, the Claude Moore Rec Center Battle of the Bricks event, BrickFair FXBG, Air and Space in Miniature, the Thomas Jefferson Library case, the Montgomery Mall Pride month display, and the Tidal Basin, Cobra Island, and Monster Trucks collaborations.

We had 24 participants join us at the Great Falls Library for our March 2025 meeting. Huge thanks to the staff and the public visitors who stopped in and asked about the club!
