LEGO Extravaganza at Pohick Library
Join the Northern Virginia LEGO User Group (NOVA-LUG) and Pohick Library for a fun, hands-on LEGO Extravaganza on Saturday, February 7, from 10:30 a.m. to Noon. This free, family-friendly LEGO event is open to the public and designed to offer something for builders of every age and skill level.
Whether you are brand new to LEGO or an experienced builder, this event is a great way to explore creativity, engineering, and collaboration. Most importantly, it is a chance to build together as a community.
Throughout the morning, attendees can visit a variety of interactive LEGO stations. Each station focuses on a different building style or challenge. This allows participants to move at their own pace and try new things.
Event Activities Include:
- Kids’ Free Build Station – Build anything you can imagine using a wide variety of LEGO bricks.
- Great Ball Contraptions / Movement Builds – Explore motion and mechanisms through Great Ball Contraption-style creations.
- Advanced Building Techniques – Learn tips and techniques used by experienced LEGO builders.
- Group Collaboration Build – Work together with others on a shared LEGO creation.
- Tallest Tower Challenge – Test your skills in a friendly competition to see who can build the tallest tower.
In addition to the activities, we are excited to offer a special giveaway. Thirty-five custom-created DC skyline LEGO sets will be given away during the event, with one set per family, while supplies last. This makes the LEGO Extravaganza even more memorable.
The LEGO Extravaganza is designed to be welcoming, educational, and fun. Families can drop in, participate in multiple stations, and enjoy building together. Meanwhile, NOVA-LUG members will be on hand to answer questions and share their passion for LEGO.
